Our cooperation with the University in Pardubice

01

Maria Sadovskaya, a student of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the Mogilev State A. Kuleshov University studied at the Summer School of German Language of the University of Pardubice (Czech Republic) in August 2018, the senior lecturer of the Department of Political Science and Sociology Vladimir Stavsky said.

Classes were held from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 18:00. The group had 20 students from different countries (Spain, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Belarus), which did not prevent them from finding a common language and sharing information about their countries. The main feature of the classes was their intensity and interactivity. The summer school curriculum included discussion of various cultural aspects of the countries from which the students arrived. This helped to practice German with varying degrees of ownership. A great impression on the Belarusian student was made by the technical equipment of the university. Classes on the practice of translation were held in a special office equipped with headphones, screens, microphones and a room for an interpreter.

On weekends excursions were organized for students. One day the students traveled to Prague accompanied by a professor who conducted the excursion in German. The students were shown the most famous historical places of Prague: Charles Bridge, St. Nicholas Church, Franz Kafka Museum, Old Town Square and much more. Brand identity of Pardubice is not architecture (although it is very noteworthy), not the beautiful nature around the city, but local gingerbread that has been baked here for more than 100 years, and so for students there was organized an excursion to the Gingerbread house.

Also, students climbed the Kunětická mountain, on top of which there is a castle that used to be a fortress for the Hussites. It should be noted that the University of Pardubice has been cooperating with the Mogilev State A.Kuleshov University  for several years. Much credit goes to Dr. Jan Czapek, who repeatedly visited our university. For the first time this year, three students of our university studied in Pardubice as part of the Erasmus program. The university itself was originated from the Chemistry and Technology University of Pardubice.

At the end of the training, participants were awarded with certificates on the passage of the summer school courses at the University of Pardubice and small gifts with the symbols of the university. Participation in such courses allows you to practice the language, get acquainted with the culture of other countries and make new acquaintances. Maria Sadowskaya thanks the German Association of Dortmund (Germany), who sponsored her trip.
