“Winter School of the Russian Language – 2023” For Foreign Students

“Winter School of the Russian Language – 2023” For Foreign Students

The traditional “Winter School of the Russian Language” worked from December 24 to January 8 at the Institute for Advanced Studies and Retraining of our university. A wide range of educational activities was implemented for foreign students of the training courses “Russian as a foreign language”. This year, more than 20 foreign students from 10 African countries (Ghana, Guinea, Djibouti, Cameroon, Mali, Nigeria, Rwanda, Togo, Eritrea, Ethiopia), as well as China, became participants in the Winter School.

The organizers of the “Winter” and “Summer Schools” for foreign students are employees of the department for the implementation of programs for pre-university education and career guidance of the Institute for Advanced Studies and Retraining, as well as a teacher of the Russian language and curator S. V. Shakuro. This format contributes to the further study of the Russian language during the New Year and holidays through live communication outside the classroom, as well as familiarization of foreign students with the folk traditions and cultural life of modern Belarus.

As part of the “Winter School – 2023” in the university dormitories № 2 and 3 “Kalyadny Pachastunak” (joint cooking and tasting of Belarusian dishes) was organized. Foreign students attended the theatrical musical performance “Three Heroes and Rejuvenating Apples” at the Regional Center for Creativity. At Christmas, Catholic students attended a festive service in the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary (St. Stanislaus). In the first days of the new year, walks around the city took place with a visit to the Podnikolsky park, the zoo, the horse arena and the Pechersky forest park.
