The results of the thematic video competition dedicated to the “International Chinese Language Day”, which was organized in 2025 by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and the China Language Alliance, have been summed up.
The theme of the competition was “Express your gift in words — 99 creative ways to write Chinese hieroglyphs.” A total number of 638 applications from 72 countries were submitted to participate in this competition. Eight students of the Confucius Institute submitted their applications as well.
After online voting and evaluation by the professional jury 42 best works were selected and awarded various prizes. These works reveal the unique features of the Chinese language, represent a variety of techniques for creating Chinese hieroglyphs for lovers of the Chinese language around the world and contribute to intercultural exchange and integration.
The video “Unlimited Pleasure: Chinese Style at Mogilev State A. Kuleshov University”, created by listeners of the Confucius Institute, Yulia Cherkasova and Sergey Spirin, was selected among the best and received the Outstanding Video Production Award.
Professor Chang Likun, who supervised this work, received the Outstanding Teaching Award and the Confucius Institute received the Outstanding Participation Award.
These high results will definitely contribute to strengthening the positions of the Confucius Institute of Mogilev State A. Kuleshov University in the eastern part of the republic; creating effective conditions for organizing the teaching of the Chinese language, understanding the traditions and values of the Chinese people and, in general, Chinese culture; implementing language and cultural exchange events; which, in turn, will contribute to the development of intercultural dialogue, strengthening bilateral ties between our people.
