II International Scientific and Practical Seminar “The German Language — Linguodidactic Support of Teaching Methods” dedicated to the memory of Sergei Alexandrovich Noskov (1943–2018), a well-known scientist in the Republic of Belarus and abroad, who taught German and Latin for more than forty years, headed the departments of foreign languages, the German language, Germanic-Romance philology at Mogilev State A. Kuleshov University, author of educational and teaching aids on German as a foreign language (at the initial and advanced stages of training), history and grammar of the German language, Latin, which were reprinted in Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, was held on February 26 at the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
The organizing committee of the seminar presented reports authored by scientists, associate professors, teachers and students from universities of the Republic of Belarus, Russian Federation, Poland, Czech Republic; teachers of state educational institutions in the city of Mogilev, Gomel and Mogilev regions.
Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor Zhanna Barsukova addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. She emphasized the importance of discussing scientific problems in an expert environment and wished the participants of the seminar fruitful work, interesting scientific conclusions and the development of promising recommendations.
The plenary session was opened by Joanna Kic-Drgas, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Modern Languages of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan (Poland). In her report, Joanna focused on the popularity of learning German in Poland and the demand for specialists with knowledge of German on the labour market.
Vladimir Nikolaevich Stavsky, senior lecturer of the Department of Political Science and Sociology at Mogilev State A. Kuleshov University, spoke about the reasons for the emergence of intercultural conflicts in the Post-Soviet Space and the ways of their continuation.
Maxim Borisovich Chikov, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor of Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University named after N. A. Dobrolyubov.
The results of his research devoted to the analysis of the features of the translation of audiovisual texts intended for dubbing (based on the translation from German into Russian of the TV series “Dark” / “Тьма”), and the difficulties encountered in the translation process, the role of epistolary communication in the upbringing of the spirituality of a modern person, classification problems pragmatic presuppositions and their influence on the choice of translation tactics in the context of Formula 1 sports protocols were shared by students of Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University named after N. A. Dobrolyubov.
Natalya Aleksandrovna Protasova, Head of the Educational Centre for the German Language and Culture, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, spoke about the life and work activities of Sergei Aleksandrovich Noskov, and also presented a report on the types and role of modality of perception, noting that, having determined their type of perception (visual, audial, kinaesthetic, digital) you can increase the quality and speed of learning.
