The international scientific and practical webinar “Traditions and Innovations in the Training of Primary School Teachers” was held at the university on February 28. The event was organized by the Department of Theory and Methods of Primary Education together with the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Primary Education of Yaroslavl State Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushinsky.
The webinar program reflected various topical issues of primary education and training of primary school teachers in higher and secondary specialized educational institutions. Traditionally, the subject of discussion of the webinar participants was the issues of improving the quality of education of junior school pupils (a report by Associate Professor O. Yu. Kamakina “Health saving of younger schoolchildren in extracurricular activities”) and preparing students for the implementation of educational activities (a report by Associate Professor S. P. Chumakova “Preparing students for the implementation of the axiological function of communication”). Modern approaches to improving the methodological training of students of the specialty “Primary Education” were presented by Associate Professor D. A. Dovgal (“Linguistic and methodological foundations for studying vocabulary words of the Belarusian and Russian languages at the first stage of general secondary education”) and senior teacher Yu. P. Cherkasova (“Formation of design skills of future primary school teachers: methodological aspect”). The report of the director of the Rostov Pedagogical College N. B. Ryabinkina aroused keen interest among the participants of the event, revealing new approaches to building educational standards for secondary vocational education, to organizing the process of preparing a primary school teacher in a college. Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor E. G. Izotova presented the results of her long-term study of the problem of fears of modern primary schoolchildren, focusing on the characteristics of fears, taking into account social, political, gender circumstances, and also proposed effective means of correcting children’s fears. The discussion was attended by students and graduate students, scientists, teachers of universities and colleges of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.
