On October 6, 2025 a thematic cultural event dedicated to the Mid-Autumn Festival titled “The Moon illuminates the whole world, together we speak about the beauty” was held in the main building of Mogilev State A. Kuleshov University by the Confucius Institute. Approximately 200 schoolchildren, students, lecturers, and university staff participated in this event.
During the event lecturers of the Confucius Institute demonstrated a tea ceremony technology, an art of making traditional Chinese mooncakes, and paper-carving of rabbit figures. They also offered everyone to taste Chinese jasmine tea and a traditional mid-autumn festival treat — mooncakes made in Belarus.
On the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival during classes lecturers from the Confucius Institute explained the origin of this holiday, clarified the meanings of different words such as “Mid-Autumn Festival”, “mooncake”, “family reunion and harmony” and shared the legend of Changae flying to the Moon. This helped students feel the richness and depth of traditional Chinese culture.
Since its foundation in October 2024 the Confucius Institute at Mogilev State A. Kuleshov University has regularly organized a variety of engaging events dedicated to traditional Chinese culture, such as “Dragon Boat Festival” and “Chinese New Year”. These activities significantly promote the popularization of Chinese culture in Belarus.
