On April 28, 2021, our university was visited by Mr. Nicolas de Lacoste, Ambassador of France to the Republic of Belarus, and Mr. Viorel Moshanu, Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Belarus. The visit was part of the Days of Francophonie, a holiday traditionally celebrated around the world and dedicated to the French language, uniting more than 300 million people on five continents.
During a meeting with the rector of the university D. V. Duk the possibilities of expanding cooperation between our university and institutions of higher education in France and Romania in the scientific and educational fields, as well as in the field of academic exchanges, were discussed. The guests visited the Hall of Fame of Mogilev State University and got acquainted with the history and traditions of our university.
The conversation about the importance of mutually beneficial educational cooperation, the experience of our university in the field of Francophonie and the prospects for the development of multilingualism in the educational sphere of our region continued at the Center for Information Resources of the French Language and Culture, which has been noticeable in the francophone space of the Republic of Belarus since 2009.
Constructive and meaningful dialogue continued in the reading room, where students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, studying French, gathered. Informal communication allowed students not only to get answers to their questions about the countries represented by distinguished guests, but also to assess the level of their linguistic competencies.
